On arrival training

Beginning of july,

 we are waiting to go to Bucharest in order to make our on arrival training. It means, meeting others volunteers from other part of Romania and making activity together and see what rights and duties we have as a volunteer. 

This week was one the best week i spent in Romania. Indeed, Bucharest was a big change for us because even if i have Resita in my heart, there is no comparison between this city where the average age is of 70 years old and the capital of Romania. 

The parties were not the only positive point of this week. Now we have new friends come from many countries. Also, with those new contacts from many cities in romania. We have a lot of places where to sleep when we plan to travel. i already have a lot of wonderful memories from many volunteers's flats in Craiova, Timisoara, Sighisoara,... 

Adaptation

We are the 2nd March 2018. I arrive in my "new house" for the next 12 months. With me one other Belgian volunteer and a spanish one. Soon we will be 2 more people.

At the beginning, speaking only english was quite difficult but quickly it was not a problem anymore and expressing myself in english became something natural.

we go to differents schools in order to make activity. New obstacle for us. Indeed, even if speaking english is pretty ok, now we have to be understood by the children who speak only romanian for most of them. Before to be able to speak Romanian, sign language has never been so useful!

Hello everyone !
My name is Nathan. I'm 21 years old and i come from Belgium. Right now, i'm making a EVS (European Voluntary Service) in Resita, a city in the west part of Romania. I decided to make this kind of project for many reasons. First of all, i finished my study last year and i didn't want to look for a job directly. My wish was to travel but i was short of money. So, making a volunteering'project was a good opportunity to travel for free and discover new places. Also, i wanted to make a travel where i could make myself usefull, make as much meeting as possible and have a new lifestyle.
